News

Whooley moley I must be one of the most unreliable bloggers ever. I tell you I have holidays and will probably post, then silence for 5 weeks! I really apologise, I have exams and am sort of stressed!

However, a few weeks ago, I attended the Hauraki Gulf marine forum and was honoured to be able to speak about my achievements. Obviously this included by blog so I want to say really big thank you to everyone who has read this blog, or shared it or whatever. Because my 60,000 views are all thanks to you guys!

The forum was an amazing experience because you are able to listen to all these amazing people speak, make connections and form ideas. It is also really humbling to be able to speak in front of so many people as only a 16 year old. So if anybody who went to the forum of played a part in the event thank you for all the amazing work you have done. If any of you live in the Auckland region of NZ, I would really encourage you to come along to next years forum, even if your a youth. The only youth this year was us MAD Marine students and it would be really awesome to see some more youth representation at the event. But even if your reading this internationally, maybe your local town or city has something similar you could attend?

Like I said, I have exams so the next updates will probably be small and infrequent.

I,ll leave you with a picture of me speaking at the event.

And to Connor and Michael, the two guys in that photo with me, great speeches and I'm pretty honoured to have other environmentally minded people who support me. And the same goes for all the amazing MAD friends I have.
P.S my face doesn't normally look like that, I'm just deep in conversation! :)

Here are some cool links from that day.
Photos can be found here .... and I'll post videos and links to my presentation when they're available. http://depth.photoshelter.com/gallery/On-the-Horizon-Hauraki-Gulf-marine-park-seminar/G0000V2FATNUreCI/C0000WUrgu.OrHhc

Thanks,
